SUMMARY:Central Maui Halloween Drive-Thru Adventure
DESCRIPTION:The County of Maui will again host a scary but fun Halloween Drive-Thru Adventure from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday\, Oct. 30\, at Keōpūolani Regional Park. No reservations are needed\, just drive up and enjoy the fun. \n“This event began as an alternative to neighborhood trick-or-treating during the COVID-19 pandemic\, but it was such a big hit\, parents started calling in September asking us to do it again\,” Mayor Victorino said. “Maui County employees are volunteering their time to bring back this popular drive-thru Halloween adventure full of treats without the tricks.” \nEvent highlights include Maui Classic Cruisers’ vintage car showcase\, LahainaTown Action Committee’s popular Mystery Monster Maze\, and a Pumpkin Patch. Generous treat stations will be staffed by volunteers from the County of Maui and community partners. \nEnter the Halloween Drive-Thru Adventure by making a right turn onto Keopuolani Parkway from Wahinepiʻo Avenue. A Keiki Buckle-up Area will be available for families with babies and young children so youngsters can get safely get back into their car seats and boosters before exiting onto Kanaloa Avenue. \nFor more information\, call the County’s Office of Economic Development at 808-270-7710.

DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, September 24th\, 2022 8am – 12pm\nVolunteer for the 18th Annual Lahaina Town Clean Up\nMeet at the parking structure at the Outlets of Maui to register and pickup supplies. \n– Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own water bottle\, gloves\, reef safe sunscreen and aloha!\n– Water bottle refill station sponsored by Tropic Water\n– Dumpster sponsored by Waste Pro Hawaii\n– Music will be provided by DJ Ron\n– Official Event Tee sponsored by Paradise Lahaina for the first 100 volunteers \n \n18th Annual Lahaina Town Clean Up event is supported by Malama Maui Nui’s “Get the Drift and Bag It!” campaign\, in conjunction with The Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Clean Up. “Get the Drift and Bag It!” is an opportunity for residents and visitors alike to join in an effort to remove litter and debris from our coastal environment. The campaign is also a part of the Ocean Conservancy’s International Coastal Cleanup month held annually in September. \nThe ICC engages hundreds of thousands of volunteers each year to take action for the ocean and for the creatures that depend on it (including humans). Over its 30+ years of existence\, approximately 17 million people have picked up some 348 million pounds of trash across more than 150 countries. By participating in the 18th Annual Lahaina Town Clean Up\, you can make a difference\, right here in your own community. \nOver the past 17 years thousands of volunteers have come together to help clean up over 7 square miles of Lahaina Town from the beach to the highway\, including two boat harbors\, 7 surf spots\, and numerous parks with divers\, students\, parents\, and volunteers in the largest and longest ongoing Town\nClean Up we know of in the state of Hawaii. \nCleanup volunteers are requested to download and utilize the Clean Swell App to keep track of the debris removed during the cleanup. This data will be added to the International Coastal Cleanup’s marine debris database.
