Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii – The LahainaTown Action committee invites the Maui community to take part in the fundraising effort for the 2015 fireworks display celebrating the 4th of July in Lahaina. The fundraising goal is $50,000 for the event and currently the committee, members include Joan McKelvey, Fran Mitsumura , Becky Lennon and Tambara Garrick, have $30,000 in pledges.
“We urge local businesses to support by donating and also decorating their store fronts with flags and buntings. There will also be more activities throughout Front Street this year.” Said Lynn Donovan Executive Director. Deadline for company logos on the official Lahaina poster will be June 12th, 2015.
Fundraising Progress can be tracked on the two goal banners that are located in Lahaina Town at Shaw Street and Lahainaluna Road on Honoapiilani Hwy. The LahainaTown Action Committee is hoping to increase the length of the Fireworks show from the original ten minutes , as it was in previous years. Sne Patel, President of the LahainaTown Action Committee said, “We want this year’s event to be bigger and better than ever. It will take the community and businesses support to help make that happen.”
Donation boxes will be available in town at local merchants including First Hawaiian Mortgage, Maui Grown Coffee company store and Hard Rock Cafe.

The Nä Kamehameha Commemorative Pä‘ü Parade & Ho’olaule’a Planning Committee would like to warmly invite you to commemorate and celebrate our ali’i through our statewide theme: “E ola ka Mō’ī Kamehameha ‘Elima” Honoring the 150th Anniversary of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I.
The NKCPPH festivities will take place on Saturday, June 13 at 9:45am on Front Street. It will start from Kenui St. and proceed South toward
Shaw St. The ho’olaule’a will open at 9am at Keawaiki, Lahaina Banyan Tree Park. Festivities to include exhibits, a parade and pä‘ü awards presentation, food booths, Maui made crafters and local entertainment. The festivities are scheduled to last until sunset.
One of the Planning Committees goals is to build and gather community. It is through this parade and ho’olaule’a that we create a venue to
not only honor our ali’i but to educate as well. By doing this, we keep all that they have done for us alive.
