Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii – Artist Robert Bedard has won Lahaina’s 27th Annual Poster Contest for his painting “Aloha from Mala” sponsored by LahainaTown Action Committee and Lahaina Arts Society. It was announced Friday evening August 7th at the artist reception. Now in its 27th year, the poster contest offers a grand prize of $2,500.00. Sponsored by LahainaTown Action Committee. The winning art becomes the limited edition official Lahaina poster for 2016 .

In addition to the $2,500.00 first prize, the Lahaina Arts Society Award, went to Sarah Williams for “Imua”. Most Promising Artist award went to John O’Leary for “Gentle Magenta” Sponsored by Cool Cat Cafe. Honorable Mention award went to Erin Dertner for “Postcard from Lahaina” sponsored by The McKelvey Family and the People’s Choice award went to Haden Burt for “Banyan Tree under the sea #7” sponsored by Pioneer Inn. All of the entries are for sale in the Old Jail Gallery located at the Old Lahaina Courthouse in Banyan Tree Park. The show will end on September 7th, 2015.. The 2016 official Lahaina Poster is limited to 1,000 prints and will be available starting December 5th, 2015. These posters are a popular item for art enthusiasts on Maui and around the world. The winning poster will be sold at the Lahaina Visitor Center, and at fine galleries throughout the town.
